MCG fight: Ponsford Stand brawl broke out at the Pies and Port Adelaide game

Four men have been arrested at the Collingwood and Port Adelaide MCG game, after a war of words allegedly escalated into a scuffle in the Ponsford stand.

A war of words between footy fans is believed to have sparked a brawl at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.

Police confirmed that four men were arrested following a physical altercation at about 4pm late into the Collingwood and Port Adelaide clash.

It’s understood a verbal argument escalated into a clash between fans, with security and police officers making their way high up into the Ponsford Stand, to break up the scuffle.

Those near the scene were captured cheering and applauding as the men were escorted from the stand.

One of the men was seen with blood on his face following the alleged fight.

Police said no one was seriously injured and those arrested would likely be interviewed amid an investigation into the incident.

More than 60,000 footy fans were reported to have packed out the G during the round two clash.
