SuperCoach BBL’s record score is in serious danger.

After two games of BBL09, several teams have already breached the 900-point mark, putting them on track to eclipse the total of 1834 set in Round 10 last season.

The five-highest scores in SuperCoach BBL history came in that round, when Marcus Stoinis scored 376 points during a Melbourne Stars double.

This meant the Stars all-rounder amassed a whopping 752 points as captain.

It was a round where only two teams (the Stars and Scorchers) featured twice and Stoinis was the top captaincy choice after a red-hot run.

Three teams have played twice in the same round before (BBL08, Round 11 — Hurricanes, Heat and Strikers and BBL06, Round 1 — Thunder, Sixers and Strikers).

The Heat, Thunder and Sixers feature twice in Round 1 this season and their stars have been popular in SuperCoach BBL as a result.

Eight players in the Thunder-Heat fixture which opened BBL09 scored 52 or better, while five Sixers scored 61 or better against Perth Scorchers.

The result has been some massive totals before Round 1 of SuperCoach BBL has reached its midway point.
