Similar in both height and build and the same age as Gallen, 38-year-old Williams would happily resume his professional boxing career should retired Shark Gallen be up for an all-NRL battle.
Williams knocked out Kris O’Neil in his last professional fight in 2011 on a Sonny Bill Williams undercard.
“He would love to fight Gallen,’’ Williams’ former trainer Losh Matthews said.
“He would be the perfect fight for Gal. Jase is a proper boxer and has fought both as an amateur and as a professional. They both played for the Sharks, too.’’
Matthews said now New Zealand resident Williams was among the world’s hardest hitters.
“I had him on the pads recently,’’ Matthews said.
“And boy can he still hit.
“He is a lot like Mike Tyson. The way he moves and the way he punches. A lot have made that comparison.’’
