CHARLIE CONSTABLE (110 SuperCoach points v Essendon VFL)

Eyebrows were raised when Constable was left out of Geelong’s team to face Essendon on Sunday and he responded with 25 disposals in his first VFL game of the year. With Patrick Dangerfield under an injury cloud, Constable could be slated for an immediate recall for Round 8. He’s averaging 81.4 points per AFL game and has more money to make from $303,000. All the coaches who held him through a week off need is for Chris Scott to repay their faith.

PATRICK NAISH (122 SuperCoach points v Williamstown VFL)

Father-son selection Naish has scored triple figures in four of his five VFL games this year with a season low of 90 ranking points against Port Melbourne in Round 2. Naish had 23 possessions in a drought-breaking win over VFL powerhouse Williamstown for the Tigers, adding seven intercept possessions and five marks to boost his score. With Richmond hit by more injuries in its loss to Western Bulldogs, the time might have arrived for $123,900 SuperCoach defender Naish.

NICK HIND (103 points v Frankston VFL)

It was only three weeks ago mature-age draftee Hind posted a monster 178 ranking points against Box Hill and in four games this year he has averaged 121 points. His lowest score to date is 98 and he also has totals of 102 and 103 for St Kilda’s VFL affiliate. Hind went at 78 per cent from 23 disposals against Frankston and the former Essendon VFL player is knocking on the door for an AFL debut. Hind is a $117,300 SuperCoach midfielder.

SAM WEIDEMAN (150 points v Footscray VFL)

While he isn’t hugely SuperCoach relevant, Weideman’s response to being dropped by Melbourne was first-class. The key forward had 21 possessions, seven marks and bagged 2.3 against Western Bulldogs’ reserves for a return of 150 points.

WILL SETTERFIELD (102 points v North Melbourne VFL)

After returning from suspension via the VFL, Will Setterfield is all but certain to be elevated to the AFL this weekend after Carlton’s flop against North Melbourne. The on-baller had 22 possessions and six tackles as Northern Blues defeated the VFL Kangaroos and it’s hard to see him missing out on selection after Carlton’s senior team was hammered by 58 points. He still features in more than 100,000 SuperCoach teams despite spending two weeks on the sideline due to suspension for his tackle on Gold Coast’s Wil Powell.

CONNOR BLAKELY (134 points v East Perth WAFL)

Playing his second game in the WAFL after a lengthy hamstring lay-off, running defender Blakely had 31 disposals and logged 134 ranking points. Blakely is a $461,800 SuperCoach defender who could provide a real point of difference after Fremantle has its bye in Round 12. He’s only in 307 SuperCoach teams.

BRETT BEWLEY (62 points v East Perth WAFL)

One of Bewley’s quieter games by ranking points this year, but he’s been in the mix for selection the past few weeks. Recruited from Williamstown VFL by Fremantle, Bewley has averaged 89 ranking points this year in the WA state league with a season-high 145 against East Fremantle in Round 3.

JACK TRENGOVE (99 points v Centrals SANFL)

The first time this year former Melbourne co-captain Trengove has dipped below 100 ranking points. He won’t figure on many SuperCoach radars as a $235,600 defender, but his points in the SANFL are hard to ignore. Trengove has had at least 31 disposals in every game, amassed 202 points in Round 1 and 177 points in Round 2, and is averaging six tackles per game. Don’t rule him out completely if he gets an AFL call-up, although his injury history is a huge worry.
