MELBOURNE is waking up to a black and yellow morning.
The Tiger Army is on the march after Friday night’s breakthrough qualifying final win over Geelong.
It’s been 16 years since Richmond tasted victory in September, such was the revelry, the Tigers theme song was played several times on the dance floor of the well-known Precinct Hotel.
Richmond fans and past and present players celebrated on social media.

The club is now into it’s first preliminary final since 2001 with GWS, Port Adelaide or West Coast as their opponents.
Richmond great Kevin Bartlett joked this morning that his celebrations are only this morning coming to an end.
“I’m just coming out of a nightclub here in the city - I don’t know what it’s called, but I tell you what, it’s been one hell of a night,” he said.

“What’s it called? Revolver. This place is jumping.”
He believes that a Richmond-Adelaide Grand Final is now “a formality” given the Tigers’ turnaround from last season.
“I was very confident about the Tigers - I think the Tigers this year have been very similar to the Bulldogs (last year),” Bartlett said on SEN.
“They may not have all of the bets players ... but they’re playing as one. They’re very unselfish and they want what is best for the team.
“There’s been an amazing turnaround from last year. Just remember - about this time last year in the last round, Sydney Swans were 22 goals to one (against Richmond).

“It was brilliant last night to see the Tigers play with that urgency.”
Bartlett, who played 403 games in yellow and black, said it is time for a new wave of Richmond champions.
“I just loved the opportunity that the Tiger fans can have a new generation of heroes,” he said.
“For 37 years, they haven’t had some real great success.
“I was so thrilled last night that so many Rihcmond fans were so happy.”
