NORTH Melbourne small forward Lindsay Thomas and Andrew Swallow could both depart the club as the Roos continue their swift list rebuild.

Thomas and Swallow are both contracted for next season but are attempting to find new homes for 2018.

Swallow, 30, is set on joining his brother David at Gold Coast.

The Suns are open to a deal but have prioritised moves for other players including Lachie Weller and Darcy Lang.

Thomas has received minimal interest, however, and may reach an agreement with the club to leave the Kangaroos this year.

North Melbourne football chief Cameron Joyce said the Roos were open to a deal on Thomas.

“We’ve had discussions with his manager about opportunities for Lindsay but that’s as far

as it’s gone,” Joyce said.

Thomas was once one of the competition’s best small forwards, booting 98 goals in 2013-14.

But the 29-year-old endured a tough year, kicking only five goals across nine senior games this season.

He was overtaken in the forward line by talented youngsters Taylor Garner and Jy Simpkin and hard nut Kayne Turner.

North Melbourne is keen to invest heavily in its young players next season, meaning the opportunities for veterans such as Thomas and Swallow will be limited.

The Roos have been clear about the club’s direction after farewelling five veterans at the end of last year and another two, Sam Gibson and Lachie Hansen, over the past month.

There has been little interest in ruckmen Todd Goldstein, Braydon Preuss and Majak Daw.
