Some were successes, some failures.
SUPERCOACH INVESTOR: SCOTT ADDS TO DANGERWOOD
MARKET WATCH: IT’S TIME TO GO PREMIUM SHOPPING
Last week Geelong midfielder Scott Selwood presented as a high quality trade target after knocking up back-to-back SuperCoach hundreds and rewarding those who took the gamble with a third straight 100.
This week it’s Mitch Wallis.
IMPORTANT: He plays tonight, so you’ll have to act quickly.
The Bulldogs midfielder has made a blistering return from a broken leg with scores of 132 and 89.
He returns from the bye on the bubble at $473,700, a breakeven of 59 and a forecast price rise of about $15,000. Plus, midfield-forward flexibility.
It’s another fork in the SuperCoach road - those who picked up the likes of Brandon Matera or Michael Walters will know what we mean.
If he’s a continued success you’ve got a cut-price premium, if he’s scoring dries up then he’s a trade wasted and a hole to fill.
Wallis has had 26 and 28 disposals in his first two games, combined with 10 tackles a plus-six free kick ratio and two goals.
The Bulldog has the look of a mid-price success and if you’ve got someone like Aaron Sandilands scoring donuts and Toby Nankervis or Paddy Ryder, he’s only a $10k upgrade.
The same goes for Nick Riewoldt, who will miss another week with a knee injury. A simple $10k, gets you a potential 100 points plus in a crucial bye week.
It’s a case of buyer beware - caveat emptor as the Romans liked to say - but one that could catapult you up the rankings and into league premiership contention.
