The best four teams are in action and you can guarantee every player will leave nothing in reserve with a Grand Final berth up for grabs.

And that’s how SuperCoaches need to approach this week’s preliminary final.

If you have trades left, use them. There’s no point saving them for the big dance if you don’t get there.

THE BAROMETER: LATEST INJURY LIST AND SELECTION ANALYSIS

STUDS AND DUDS: SUPERCOACH VILLAIN ROSS LYON STRIKES AGAIN

Fremantle’s Luke Ryan and Sydney’s Nic Newman have been outstanding cash cows this season, but after quiet games last round — 32 and 24 points, respectively — they can’t be carried in one of the most important games of the year.

Adelaide suprise packet Hugh Greenwood is another to consider upgrading after he scored 59 last weekend.

If you’re looking for an edge to get your team into the decider, you can do no wrong looking at these options.

Michael Hurley $537,400 def

The Bombers star has averaged 111 over his past six games, and that includes a 77 against North Melbourne, which is the only match since Round 12 where he hasn’t scored 98 or better. He’s averaging 103 for the year, now clearly the third highest-scoring defender, and the Bombers have a friendly draw with games against Gold Coast and Fremantle to come

Hurley’s in 10 per cent of teams so a likely point of difference against your prelim opponent.

Michael Hurley could be the difference in the preliminary final.

Matt Crouch $617,800 mid

His average of 110 is ranked no.8 for midfielders this season, ahead of Marcus Bontempelli, Rory Sloane and Scott Pendlebury. He’s scored at least 100 points in his past 11 games.

In the past three rounds his average is second in the comp behind only Taylor Adams. He’s in just five per cent of teams, so he’s a huge prelim POD

Luke Parker $531,000 mid

A cheaper option if you can’t afford M.Crouch. The Swans star has hit his straps at the right time with big tons (134 and 126) in the past two weeks. His average of 99.6 is the only reason why he’s in just seven per cent of teams, but he’s scoring at 108.1 points a game since the Swans’ bye in Round 11.

Dayne Beams $517,200 mid

High risk because of his injury troubles this year, but he’s coming off a 134 against the Suns. The star Lion has scored four hundreds in his past five games, which also includes a 131 and 131. Beams has showm throughout this season when he scores a ton, it’s usually a big one.

Matthew Kreuzer $564,500 ruc

The Blues ruckman is clearly the best big man in the competition. His average of 117.2 in the past five rounds is ranked 10th in the competition. The next best ruckman is Paddy Ryder with a 107-point average.

Lance Franklin was back to his best on Saturday.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: LANCE FRANKLIN

Franklin bounced back strongly after his woeful display against the Cats one week earlier. He tore the Dockers apart, booting four goals on his way to a round-high 164 points. He finished with 24 disposals, 12 contested possessions, four clearances and 10 inside-50s. He also recorded two score assists and was involved in 13 scoring chains.

CHAMPION DATA MARKET WATCH

Matt Crouch

Crouch’s price has hit a season-high after adding a further 139 SuperCoach points to his tally – his equal-highest score for the year. He finished with team-highs of 35 disposals, 20 contested possessions and seven clearances from 77 per cent game time. He did most of his good work around the stoppages, winning a game-high 11 pre-clearance disposals.

Lachie Neale

Neale had a stinker against the Swans, managing just nine disposals, his equal second-fewest in any match since 2014. Failing to attend a centre bounce after halftime, he finished with season-lows of six contested possessions, one tackle and zero inside-50s. Neale’s score of 44 SuperCoach points was a season-low return.

Zach Tuohy

Tuohy’s ball use was once again a highlight on the weekend against Richmond, hitting the target with 20 of 24 disposals and finishing with 105 SuperCoach points. He also recorded 14 uncontested possessions, two clearances, three inside 50s and two score assists from 98 per cent game time.

YOUNG GUN: JOSH DELUCA-CARDILLO

Deluca-Cardillo was one of just seven Fremantle players to win more than 15 disposals against the Swans, gathering 17 from 75 per cent game time. He also recorded eight contested possessions, three tackles, two inside-50s, one goal and 67 SuperCoach points, recording a price rise of $34,600.
