HEATH Shaw became the latest member of the prestigious SuperCoach 200 club against the Western Bulldogs yesterday.
Shaw became the first player to post a double ton since Todd Goldstein’s 221 in Round 16 last year.
We don’t think Shaw had one eye on the live SuperCoach scores at Spotless Stadium, but if he was he could hardly have played a game better suited to the SuperCoach scoring system.
Shaw had 38 disposals — a career-high — made up of 36 kicks and just two handballs.
Even more remarkably, he hit the target with every one of those kicks, recording a disposal efficiency of 97 per cent. His 36 effective kicks was the highest number ever recorded.
He also took 14 marks and laid six tackles, and gained 1094 metres — the second most ever recorded (behind former Tiger Joel Bowden).
Shaw’s kick-to-handball ratio this season is 7.3:1. The next highest general defender is 2.93:1.
And he’s not just an offensive player. Shaw usually plays on the opposition’s best small forward and has lost just five of his 26 defensive one-on-one contests in 2016.
He is the first defender to break the 200-point barrier since 2008.
Apart from the 9612 fans at Spotless Stadium, the happiest people with Shaw’s performance were the 6858 SuperCoach players who had him as captain, pocketing 406 points from one player. They included the Round 9 weekly winner — see his full line-up below.
Shaw is now averaging 145 over his past five games with four scores above 130.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: HEATH SHAW
Shaw was dominant against the Bulldogs, collecting a career and round-high 203 SuperCoach points. His ability to hit targets was integral, recording a disposal efficiency of 97 per cent from his 38 disposals and 14 marks. He also applied six tackles and gained plenty of territory, recording a gain of 1094 metres — the second-most ever recorded.
CHAMPION DATA MARKET WATCH
Todd Goldstein
Goldstein put on a clinic in the ruck against the Blues, finishing with 45 hit-outs and 16 hit-outs-to-advantage. He also hit the target with 18 of 19 disposals and recorded five clearances, four tackles and kicked three goals straight. Goldstein posted a season-high 173 SuperCoach points, increasing in value by $22,300.
Grant Birchall
Birchall had little impact against the Swans despite collecting 19 disposals and 14 uncontested possessions, finishing with a season-low 51 SuperCoach points. His price further dipped by $17,900 as a result. He only recorded one rebound 50 for the match and gained just 80 metres — his third-lowest return in any match on record.
Matt Priddis
Priddis has bounced back strongly to record 112 SuperCoach points against the Power, enjoying his first price rise of the season along the way (+$6600). His ability to win his own ball was once again a feature of his game, finishing with a career-high 25 contested possessions. Priddis also applied 10 tackles and generated 11 clearances.
YOUNG GUN: RHYS MATHIESON
Mathieson worked himself into the game on his debut last week against Melbourne, finishing with 59 SuperCoach points. He recorded 14 disposals, eight contested possessions, three clearances, three inside 50s and two tackles from 64 per cent game time. Mathieson was fearless with his attack, winning a round-high five free kicks for a high tackle.
