NINE rounds into the season, our rookies have matured nicely and it’s time to go shopping.
Bomber Mitch Brown boosted his value with four goals on the weekend — now he’s worth $312,600 and has a break-even of 75, 13 above his season average.
Thanks Mitch, now it’s time to go.
Michael Hartley, Marcus Adams and Connor Menadue are also ripe for trading, and you could also cash in the likes of Ben Kennedy and George Hewett and get a nice return on your investment.

The problem is we need freshly blooded rookies to generate maximum spending power, and there aren’t a lot of those around.
Bailey Williams is on the bubble, but his position in the Bulldogs team is tenuous with Matthew Boyd, Matthew Suckling and Marcus Adams (we hope) ready to return this week.
Lion Rhys Mathieson looked OK in his first game, but we need another look at him before committing.
Then there’s Jacob Hopper. The GWS academy gun burst out of the blocks with 106 in his first game and backed it up with a more subdued 74 against the Bulldogs.
He’s due for a price rise in the order of $70,000 in his next game, but his price of $193,800 means you won’t get much change from cashing in a rookie.
This means we need to be smart when choosing our trade targets. Patrick Dangerfield might be out of reach but the good news is there are some high-scorers available at much more affordable prices.

THE TOP SHELF
Matt Priddis $502,800 mid
Average: 104
Break-even: 66
Bounced back with a 112 last week and his value jumped $6600 after five consecutive price drops. Still very affordable, but won’t be for long. We know what he can do.
Todd Goldstein $574,800 ruck
Average: 119
Break-even: 66
The No. 1 ruckman in the game has bottomed out and his price is headed north again after a 173 last weekend. If you haven’t got him, you won’t get a better chance.
Brett Deledio $547,200 fwd
Average: 94
Break-even: 105
Has dropped $62k from his starting price. Still expensive but a proven superstar — he averaged about 130 in the run home last year — and probably won’t get any cheaper.
Robbie Gray $514,200 mid
Average: 104
Break-even: 135
We can wait another week for Robbie who could be under $500k next week.
THE BARGAIN
Chad Wingard $381,000 fwd
Average: 75
Break-even: 58
Crazy price for a guy who has averaged 98 points a game over a season twice in his short career (2013 and 2015). Hot and cold — he scored 54 and 125 the past two weeks — so prepare for a rollercoaster ride, but if Port gets on a roll he could be the steal of the season. Last year he started slowly then averaged 102 from Round 10.
THE POINT OF DIFFERENCE
Jeremy Howe $455,900 fwd/def
Average: 83
Break-even: 34
The figure that catches the eye is Howe’s average of 116 over his past three games. Clearly loving life under Nathan Buckley. His best season was 2014 when he averaged 85 points a game — can he keep that scoring up?
