Look back on the 2021 season predictions and try to find anyone who had Melbourne, Sydney and the Western Bulldogs all 4-0 and in the top three positions on the ladder.
In what has been a huge surprise to start the season, a new wave of finals contenders has established itself as the ones to watch this year.
But of the three, which one is ultimately the real deal and can potentially challenge the Tigers for premiership glory?
On this week’s episode of KFC SuperFooty TV, Jack Watts, Mick Warner and Glenn McFarlane debated just that – and it was clear who they liked.
“I really want to say my Demons because they’re on fire,” former Demon Watts said.

“I love the Bulldogs. I really love how the Bulldogs play and I have for a few years. The way they use their hands and they just share the ball. With Josh Bruce and a few of these forwards coming to play I really like them.”
McFarlane agreed that the Dogs were the best tip for 2021 success. But a different club might be the pick of the bunch over the next five years.
“I think the Bulldogs for me. I like Melbourne and I love what they’re doing,” he said.
“I think Sydney might be the best long term play. If you’re looking at what they can do in a five year window I think they can do some really good things.
“But with the Bulldogs, the way it is clicking at the moment the only thing that concerns me with them is just their backline and whether they’re one short in terms of a big monster.”
While all eyes have been on big name recruit Adam Treloar, it is another new Dog who has impressed Macca.
“How the Brisbane Lions ever gave up Stefan Martin, I just shake my head.”
Also on this week’s episode the guys talked about what the Magpies should do with Darcy Moore, the pressure on Nathan Buckley, Round 5 tips and plenty more.
