Nathan Buckley’s future could be decided over the next two weeks.
The Magpies coach said for the first time on Wednesday that he wants to stay in the job beyond this season, but the decision might be taken out of his hands.
Herald Sun reports Michael Warner and Jay Clark were joined by former Melbourne and Port Adelaide star Jack Watts to debate the big issues in footy on the latest episode of KFC SuperFooty TV.

“This next fortnight is crucial,” Clark said.
“Gold Coast on Saturday and then North Melbourne the week after. I think if they lose either of those games they’ll be right under the pump.”
Clark said there was some confusion about who would make the call on Buckley’s future after new president Mark Korda said football boss Graham Wright would run the coaching review.
“It can’t be all his call. He’s been at the club five minutes,” Clark said.
“I think it’s going to be a bit of a shared decision. A big part in this is what Nathan Buckley wants to do ... I don’t think they’ll sack Nathan Buckley. I think he’ll say he wants to step away.”
Watts said as much as clubs denied it, it was impossible to shield players from pressure building on a coach.
“It’s not a lot of fun, most of my career was sort of in that situation,” he said.
“As much as the coach tries to hide that sort of pressure from the players, you can certainly feel it.”
