When Shaun Burgoyne was traded to Hawthorn, the big question was how long would his struggling knees last before giving up on him?
Would the Hawks get one year out of him? Or would luck be on their side and they get two or three?
Now 242 games in the brown and gold later, Burgoyne is on the verge of joining the magical 400 club.
On this week’s episode of KFC SuperFooty TV, Michael Warner and Sam Landsberger paid tribute to the four-time premiership winning superstar.
“To play 400 games of AFL football is extraordinary. To play one game you’re a seriously good player,” Warner said.

“His nickname is Silk for a reason because he is just a magnificent player.”
With the upcoming addition of Burgoyne, the 400-club now features five members – Kevin Bartlett, Michael Tuck, Dustin Fletcher and Brent Harvey.
But how long will it be until there is a sixth? And who will it be?
In terms of games played, the closest contenders are David Mundy (346), Eddie Betts (343), Scott Pendlebury (330) and Joel Selwood (324).
However, Warner had another name in his sights.
“The one I picked out is Dustin Martin, who has just turned 30. He has missed eight games in his career. He has got the hunger. (He’s at) 257 which I think becomes 400 if he wants.”
Another 150 games of Dusty? Where do we sign?
