Tasmania Devils foundation jumper to go on sale

The Tasmania Devils foundation jumper will go on sale later this week for the first time. Here’s how you can get your hands on one and how much it will set you back.

The Tasmania Devils are set launch their official merchandise, the inaugural “Map” guernsey, exclusively to Foundation Members on Friday with the club facing a potential avalanche of orders the need to make more than 100,000 of them.

With almost 180,000 paid-up Foundation Members, Tasmanian Football Club executive officer Kath McCann said they would make as many as required.

The catch is only members can buy the jumpers, and only within a two-week window, starting from 9am on Friday at tasmaniafc.com.

Other merchandise will follow as the year unfolds.

The jumpers will be made in men’s and women’s cut ($99.95), and children’s sizes ($89.95), and will include a Foundation Member insignia on the back neckline (no numbers on the back).

Asked how many jumpers they expect to make, Ms McCann said: “We don’t know.

“The forecast numbers on the membership have far exceeded our expectations.

“Orders will be open for two weeks, so members can place their orders and their jumpers will arrive sometime in the following four to six weeks.

“We will make as many as required based on that time period and members who place an order will receive their jumpers as soon as they can be delivered.”

The club will work on its time-line for the release of other merchandise.

“More merchandise is to come and we will individualise each drop through the course of the year, including seasonally-focused items,” Ms McCann said

The next piece of merchandise is likely to be caps, followed by such wearables as polos, scarves and beanies.

“We are just doing the planning on that now, but any feedback that our members have is welcome through our social media,” she said.

“We’ve already had feedback on caps and scarves. We will make sure we cater for demand.”
