NAB League Super Rankings: Top 50 players ranked after Round 15

A ball magnet’s incredible form and the rise of a Collingwood Academy prospect have caught the eye in the NAB League. See the latest top 50 player rankings.

REPLAY: NAB League AFL – GWV Rebels vs Sandringham Dragons

Collingwood father-son prospect and potential No.1 draft pick Nick Daicos is expected to return to the fold in the NAB League this week after being sidelined at the weekend with calf soreness.

Daicos was a notable absentee from Oakleigh Chargers’ 22-point loss to Gippsland Power on Sunday.

However, Chargers talent manager Jy Bond said there was “nothing serious” to worry about.

“He just had a bit of calf tightness and a bit of lower leg soreness, so we just decided to rest him,” Bond said.

“He’ll be back this week, which is good.”

Daicos, who also missed Vic Metro trials with hamstring tightness earlier this year, has been a standout in the competition this season and remains second on the Herald Sun NAB League Super Rankings.

Collingwood Next Generation Academy member Youseph Dib starred through the midfield for Oakleigh in Daicos’ absence, logging eight clearances, seven inside-50s, 10 tackles and four score involvements from 20 disposals.

“He’s just a really competitive player,” Bond said of Dib.

“He loves the contest, he’s got great ball use, he’s a good leader.

“He doesn’t always get a heap of the ball, but when he does, he impacts. There are games where he might get 10 possessions but at the end of the day you might think he’s had 15 or 20 because he impacts a lot.”

Northern Knights midfielder Joel Trudgeon again racked up the highest KFC SuperCoach score of the weekend in the NAB League with 200 points.

An inside midfielder, Trudgeon recorded 34 disposals (24 contested), seven marks, five inside-50s, 10 clearances, seven tackles, eight score involvements and a goal in his side’s 23-point loss to Bendigo Pioneers.
