Sam Newman has been slammed online for a series of bizarre posts on social media about a women’s athletics event in Doha that didn’t feature any “white” runners.

Sam Newman has attracted controversy once again, posting a series of tweets questioning the absence of white athletes at a Diamond League athletics event in Doha.
“Is there anyone who is white, that can run?” Newman posted on Twitter.
Twitter users have replied to Newman, labelling him a “racist” and a “Neanderthal”.

“You’ve lost the plot …,” one user wrote.
“Why does this bother you so much?” wrote another.
Newman also referred to a white athlete in a race as the “lone ranger”, and urged white Australian hurdler Sally Pearson to continue her career.
Newman most recently courted attention for a video posted to Twitter where he dressed in drag and made distasteful jokes about transitioning from male to female.
The video was heavily criticised before being deleted.
