OH, that polarising figure Brian Taylor.
The votes are rolling in for the Herald Sun Footy Fans’ Survey and one thing is already clear: Channel 7 caller Taylor, or ‘BT’ as he’s more commonly known among punters, is loved by many but seemingly a turn-off for others.

Among a range of questions in this year’s survey fans are again asked ‘Who is the most annoying AFL media personality?’.
Taylor leads early results with just over 23 per cent of the vote, the man known for the weekly ‘Roaming Brian’ segment following Friday night matches narrowly edging the Nine Network’s Craig Hutchison and Sam Newman.

But it’s not all bad news for the AFL’s official broadcaster, with BT clearly a winner for thousands.
When asked ‘Who is the AFL’s best play-by-play television commentator?’, Taylor ranks prominently, with his Friday night colleague and veteran caller Bruce McAvaney leading the pack.
Trying to replace the game’s most popular commentator was always going to be tough for Channel 7 after Dennis Cometti hung up his microphone at the end of 2016.
