McKinley heads to Arden St

NORTH Melbourne has added West Coast goalkicker Ben McKinley to its forward line.

NORTH Melbourne has added West Coast goalkicker Ben McKinley to its forward line.

The Roos finalised the deal for pick 86 in the draft this afternoon.

McKinley, 23, kicked 42 goals from a forward pocket in 2008 but has since fallen out of favour at the Eagles.

His clean marking skills and accurate set shot are a welcome boost to the Roos’ attack.

“Ben is an extremely exciting prospect for the North Melbourne Football Club,” Roos coach Brad Scott said.

“He will add flare and potency to our forward line and we believe he can also play an important role in our midfield.

"Ben is an outstanding young man of the highest calibre and is currently in the final year of a law degree. He is exactly the type of character we are looking to attract and develop here at Arden St.”
