The stepdaughter of AFL legend Brendan Fevola has revealed she no longer checks her phone in the morning because of relentless trolling on social media.

Mia Fevola has been subjected to a wave of awful messages since her relationship with Western Bulldogs rookie Jamarra Ugle-Hagan went public.

The 21-year-old influencer called out the vile abuse on Tuesday afternoon, posting a message to her 145,000 Instagram followers.

“Every single day I wake up to messages like this,’’ Mia wrote alongside examples of the abusive comments.

“I dread checking my phone because I know what messages and comments await me. I now don’t check my phone in the morning because whenever I do, it ruins my day.

“It’s been months of this, I’m so sick of staying silent and hoping that it will just eventually die off.

“My point is, if you can’t be compassionate, understanding, or even just decent, then be QUIET.

“You have no idea what somebody could be going through. We have a long way to go as a society. I’m so ashamed of how normalised this bullying is.”

Fevola shared the first photograph of herself alongside Ugle-Hagan in March, publicly unveiling her blossoming relationship with the Bulldogs’ number one draft pick.

But the image was quickly bombarded by trolls, who posted unnecessary comments about Fevola and her dating history — she previously dated Richmond star Daniel Rioli for two years before they broke up in 2020.

Brendan blasted the “slut-shaming” on his FOX FM radio show Fifi, Fev and Nick earlier this year.

“Blokes can do whatever they want,’’ Brendan said in March.

“They can go and date girls and no one judges them. It’s a lad thing. But as soon as a girl does it.

“All the trolls that come out and pot people, and the keyboard warriors who are slut-shaming my daughter — it’s just not on.”

Mia is the eldest child of Brendan’s longtime partner Alex, but the Carlton great adopted Mia as his own daughter after marrying Alex in 2005.

Ugle-Hagan was picked up by the Bulldogs at the 2020 AFL Draft, the tall forward dubbed “Buddy Franklin 2.0” by some footy pundits — he is yet to make his AFL debut.

The teenager was the first Indigenous footballer to be taken at pick one since Des Headland achieved the feat in 1998.
