AFL Rookie Draft 2025: Live updates and every pick tracker

The rookie and pre-season drafts are over – and a few highly-touted prospects were again left without an AFL home. See every pick here.

Draft sliders Ollie Greeves, Fred Rodriguez and Riley Onley have found AFL homes in a rookie draft which was used mostly to re-list experienced talent.

West Coast selected local product Rodriguez with the No.1 pick after the onballer had slipped through the national draft on Thursday night.

Rodriguez had been touted as a potential top-10 pick earlier this year and captained Western Australia at the under-18 national championships.

Onley – a powerful 195cm midfielder from the Murray Bushrangers – was snapped up by Melbourne at pick 3, while Greeves had to sweat it out until his name was called by Hawthorn at pick 12.

An under-18 All-Australian this year, Greeves had been rated as another top-10 prospect by some during his top-age campaign, but recruiters continually questioned his running ability.

The Hawks had tracked Greeves closely in recent years and unsuccessfully applied for him to be included in their Next Generation Academy program after he discovered his Indigenous heritage.

Port Adelaide handed one of its SANFL stars a chance at the next level in midfielder Jack Watkins, while Fremantle pounced on Swan Districts small forward Leon Kickett in another state league success story.

Geelong surprised by selecting Northern Knights midfielder Nicholas Driscoll with the last utilised selection in the rookie draft.

The speedster was not part of the Vic Metro program for the national championships mid-year but averaged 17.4 disposals and three clearances from 16 games for the Knights.

Nine recently delisted AFL players were re-listed in the rookie draft, while Brisbane Lions premiership player Callum Ah Chee joined Adelaide with the only selection in the pre-season draft.

Melbourne added father-son prospect Kalani White as a rookie before the draft after the son of former Demons ruckman Jeff did not receive a rival bid during the national draft.

However, Richmond did not do the same with its father-son prospect Louis Kellaway – the son of former Tiger, Duncan – instead passing with its No.2 pick in the rookie draft.

Collingwood added NGA product Jai Saxena as a rookie ahead of the draft, overlooking another father-son prospect in Tom McGuane.

Saxena was born in Melbourne but could become the first player with full Indian heritage to play at AFL level.

A number of clubs have left list spots open for the Supplementary Selection Period, which opens on Monday.

Fremantle will sign Collingwood premiership player Mason Cox to a two-year deal when that window opens, while Carlton is among a raft of other clubs with plans to invite train-on players to trial during that period.
