Top real estate agents NSW 2023: AREAs finalists list reveals industry’s best

Hardworking agents and other professionals have been announced as finalists for top real estate honours, shedding light on the industry’s best performers. See who made the AREAs list

How sellers can keep up with the market

A cohort of residential and commercial sales agents, agencies and other property professionals have been recognised for outstanding contributions to the industry in a string of top real estate honours set to be announced in April.

REA Group, the parent company of sites such as realestate.com.au and realcommercial.com.au, announced the 2022 Annual REA Excellence Awards (AREAs) finalists, with winners to be named at a national event on April 27.

Many of the finalists for the most coveted national awards are Sydney-based agencies who have traversed the challenging industry conditions spurred by 10 successive interest rate hikes.

Finalists for the prestigious Commercial Agency of the Year Award included the Sydney-based Stonebridge Property Group and Colliers, headquartered in the Sydney CBD.

There is also a national award for Rising Star of the Year, with Western Sydney agent Vedant Agrawal of Ray White St Marys-Diamantidis Group making the list of four finalists for the award.

Two of the finalists for Marketer of the Year were from NSW-based companies: Emily Wood of Frasers and Tammy Clinch of Third.i Group.

One hundred agents were also announced as finalists for the Top Residential Sales Agent NSW Award.

The finalists list was based on how agents performed on a range of metrics. The agents who made the list scored within the top 100 for volume of sales, ratings and reviews, total value of sales, views and engagement on listings and other measures.

Another front runner for the award was Josh Tesolin of Ray White Quakers Hill, who at 27, is one of the country’s youngest agency principals.

Other favoured contenders for top resident agent were Ray White Diamantidis Group director Peter Diamantidis, Nick Clarke of Clarke & Co Estate Agents, Gregory Mellington of Mellington Property, Brendan Lappan of Ray White Macarthur Group and Alexander Phillips of PPD Real Estate.

Established in 2016, the AREAs recognise the performance of property industry professionals in supporting Aussies through their property journey.

The awards include submission-based categories as well as top campaign and agent awards, powered by realestate.com.au and realcommercial.com.au data.

This year’s awards include more than 40 categories with a focus on innovation, service, marketing, wellbeing and community.

An independent judging panel including expert representatives from industry bodies, media and community organisations will select the submission-based award winners.

Finalists will receive personalised marketing assets, exposure across REA’s website and social channels, and recognition at the national awards night. Award winners will secure additional prizes.

Last year’s winner of the Residential Agency of the Year, DiJones Real Estate CEO Dean Mackie said winning an award was “huge achievement”.

“I was really proud of our team’s outstanding resilience and success in what was one of the busiest years for Di Jones,” Mr Dean said.

“We recognise a lot of value in winning an AREA award, not just in terms of the direct benefits to the business, but it also sends a great message to our team – it’s a true reflection of their outstanding work.”

REA Group chief customer officer Kul Singh said the seventh annual awards attracted record submissions, up 60 per cent on last year.

“2022 was another significant year for the industry,” he said. “I’m particularly looking forward to seeing who takes out the Contribution to Community award and our newest awards, the Rising Star Award and the Support Superstar of the Year.”
