TV funnyman Andy Lee is making another multimillion move in the real estate game after his headline making $8m purchase of a derelict Hawthorn mansion.

Lee spent $8.5m in 2021 on the crumbling shell of a once grand suburban home on the banks of the Yarra and has won approval from the local council to carry out a $5m renovation on the property. His plans have attracted considerable attention from curious locals.

While he estimates that build will take the best part of two years, in the meantime Lee is off loading his spectacular inner city converted warehouse.

The three storey, three bedroom home in Richmond features a wine cellar, an indoor golf simulator, a glass walled garage, private gym, large dining area, expansive outdoor terrace, spacious living area and modern kitchen.

The home is located in the original Henry Bucks building, part of Melbourne’s retail clothing history, and is walking distance from the MCG, entertainment venues and the inner city lifestyle precinct.

Exposed original beams and quality polished timber floors maintain the heritage and character of the former industrial building.

The property has an asking price of between $2.5m – $2.65m. Picture: Fletchers.

The home, in Tennyson Street, will go to auction on Saturday, October 28 with a price guide of $2.5m to $2.65m. Fletchers is handling the sale.

Lee bought the property in 2008 for $1.5m. He and his partner Rebecca Harding have moved to St Kilda.

Settling into their new digs however has not been smooth with Lee posting footage of their apartment being dried out by industrial heaters after flooding in a storm in recent days, with an exasperated Harding in the background.

Lee hosts the Channel 9 game show The Hundred and dominates the podcast space with his long time work partner Hamish Blake.
