MELBOURNE is set to rumble as WWE stars are about to arrive in Melbourne for Super Show-Down at the MCG including John Cena, Ronda Rousey, Triple H and The Undertaker

WWE is coming to Melbourne

ONE of WWE’s biggest wrestling superstars says the Melbourne crowd will be “wild” as the sports-entertainment showpiece is tipped to break attendance history.

It can now be revealed, fans will get to indulge in 10 matches, including four championship matches, as the MCG is transformed into a “WrestleMania-style’’ venue never before seen in Australia.

The biggest names in global wrestling including John Cena, Ronda Rousey, Triple H, The Undertaker, Shane McMahon, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Shawn Michaels and Randy Orton will descend on the city this week for the Saturday spectacular.

WWE superstar Drew McIntyre, who is competing in a six man tag team match, said the level of talent coming Down Under was remarkable and fans were going to see some of the biggest names on the roster.

“I just don’t think WWE and wrestlers know what they are in for when they get to the show just how wild the crowd is going to be,” he said.

Among other matches will be Ronda Rousey also battling it out in a six-woman tag team match, Melbourne’s own Buddy Murphy competes for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

One of the highlights for the historic WWE blockbuster will see wrestling legends Triple H and The Undertaker — who have 21 World Championships between them — face off in the ring for the first time in more than six years and the last time ever.

WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will be Triple H’s corner, while Undertaker’s brother Kane will be in his corner.

Fans from across the world and interstate will flock to Melbourne for the event, tipped to inject more than $22.3 million into the state economy.

The WWE Super Show-Down is expected to make attendance and ratings history.

Just days after the Grand Final, the footy posts will be plucked out and a ring will be built in the centre of the stadium for the first time with up to 500 crew members completing the set up in four days.

The live stadium spectacular will feature seats on the ground, big screens, lighting, speakers bands, fireworks and light shows.

The WWE event will be beamed from Victoria to 180 countries around the world in 24 languages on pay-per-view — the second-most viewed channel in the world.

It is the first WWE stadium show in 16 years, with its previous event Global Warning at Etihad Stadium setting an entertainment attendance record of 56,743.
