In celebration of the 95th annual Academy Awards, hosted at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, Australian supermodel and beauty mogul Miranda Kerr made a rare red carpet appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party alongside her tech billionaire husband, Evan Spiegel.
The loved-up pair, who recently featured on Vogue Australia’s July 2022 cover captured on their 87-hectare Hunter Valley farm in NSW, were dressed to the nines for the star-studded occasion, which took place at the Wallis Annenberg Centre for the Performing Arts.
Tied up in a strappy, aquamarine Elie Saab haute couture gown which cascaded down her body, Kerr walked the red carpet with an endearing smile as she turned to give each of the cameras a view of the detailing on the back of her dress.
Pairing the style with a simple yet captivating make-up look, diamond chandelier earrings, and matching diamond bracelet, the model looked every bit the Australian bombshell that she is beside her tuxedo-wearing husband.
Fellow model Cara Delevingne also made a return to the red carpet wearing Elie Saab haute couture, however opted for a bold red look boasting a sultry thigh-high split. Top Gun: Maverick’s Monica Barbaro followed the pair’s lead with another Saab number that looked to channel elements of both Kerr and Delevingne’s show-stopping gowns.
Via Instagram, Kerr gave her 14 million followers a sneak peek into the preparation behind her red carpet appearance. Enlisting the help of make-up artist Alyx Liu, hair stylist Ericka Verrett, and an assortment of products from her very own beauty line, Kora Organics, Kerr served a look that made it near impossible not to notice the baby blue of her eyes against the backdrop of her dress.
“For me, making sure I cleanse, mist and moisturise morning and night no matter what, no matter how tired I am, that’s what’s really important,” the model has previously told Vogue of her consistent skincare routine. “I love my little morning and night routine, because I feel like it really helps my skin be the best that it can be.”
In 2023, celebrities filed into Los Angeles’s Dolby Theatre sporting gentle hues. The palette was dainty, even if the silhouettes themselves were dramatic: pretty pinks and bridal whites, some ripped straight from the recent autumn/winter ’23/’24 runways.
Everything, Everywhere, All At Once Best Supporting Actress nominee Stephanie Hsu turned heads in strapless Valentino haute couture, a bright coral gown with a fitted bodice and a formidable bubbled hem; fellow nominee Hong Chau, on the other hand, chose a soft pink Prada dress that nodded to her Asian heritage—a minimalist column with a mandarin collar, and a feathered black train affixed to the back.On the red carpet at Vanity Fair’s annual party, however, style was a glitzier affair.
Stars were ready to shed the Oscars’ dress code—quite literally—and usher in a night of dancing and free-flowing champagne.
Nothing nods to hedonism quite like a body-conscious dress, which is why guests like Olivia Wilde and Julia Garner were spotted at the event in skimming, skin-baring gowns—Wilde, in asymmetric Gabriela Hearst, and Garner in a black Off-White dress, debuted by Naomi Campbell at the label’s autumn/winter ’23/’24 presentation earlier this month.
