Meghan Markle isn’t exactly known for her frugal style. The Duchess of Sussex has sported another designer outfit with a huge price-tag – including more than $400,000 worth of jewellery.

The mother-of-two, 40, wore a crisp blue shirt teamed with expensive accessories including her wedding and engagement rings, in a new video posted on Brightly Storytime’s YouTube channel, in which she read her kids’ book, The Bench.

“Today I’m going to be read to you my book called The Bench with illustrator Christian Robinson,” Meghan told viewers in the clip.

“I asked him to do something special for me and use watercolours, which isn’t the normal medium he works in but he did it to make it extra special. ‘I wrote this as a poem for my husband and our son Archie, and then turned it into a book so you could enjoy it too.”

Meghan’s ensemble included the Cartier Tank Française watch (estimated to be worth $23,000) that once belonged to Prince Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana, and a $6800-plus Cartier love bracelet.

She also sported a $3,000 bracelet by celebrity accessories designer, Jennifer Meyer, and appeared to be wearing a pair of Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings, and a ring by the designer, believed to be worth $62,000, among other expensive accessories.

‘TOTALLY ISOLATED’

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have cut off and alienated their families in a desperate attempt to “control the narrative” that they will eventually come to regret, a royal biographer has claimed.

Tom Bower said private details revealed by Meghan’s father and half-brother were just the tip of the iceberg, predicting more “skeletons in the closet” will come out if Meghan doesn’t communicate with her family.

“Harry and Meghan have totally isolated themselves,” Bower told Closer magazine. “They seem to think they will be stronger by cutting people out, but they’re really just alienating their families. I think it’s very sad for them both, and their children.

“I believe Meghan is a very stubborn person, but I think eventually even she’ll realise that this isolated world she and Harry have built for themselves was a poisonous choice.

“They seem so desperate to control the narrative that they can’t risk anyone else influencing it – but this will simply cause more damage to them in the future, when their children grow up with no family around them.”

Meghan’s estranged father Thomas Markle told ITV his daughter “changed” once she started dating Harry, adding he considered suing the couple in California to see his grandchildren.

“She’s pretty much disowned both sides of her family and I don’t understand the reason for it,” he told Good Morning Britain.

“There are some reasons that she got upset with me and one was that she thought I was giving too much attention to her brother and sister …”

The Duchess’s brother, Thomas Markle Jr, said Meghan walked all over her ex-husband and warned that Harry was “on the chopping block next”, per the trailer for Australia’s Big Brother VIP.

Bower said that Meghan needs the men from her past to stop speaking out against her but that her “stubborn” instance of isolating herself would backfire.

“If she wants this to stop, she needs to communicate,” Bower said. “It’s what should have been done years ago; Meghan should have communicated with her father, in person or over the phone. She seems to be hoping he’ll just go away, but he won’t,” Bower told Closer.

“I think, much to her dismay, more will come out. I think Thomas is keeping some things back and that he has a lot of embarrassing stuff on her. There are skeletons in the closet and, when provoked, I think the secrets could all come out.”

In researching the biography scheduled for publication in 2022, Bower found the whole odd situation in the Markle family is even more strange given how close Meghan was to her father in her younger years.

“From what I can see, she became a completely different person when her career began taking off, when she joined [US drama] Suits and when she began dating Harry,” Bower said.

“She was really family-orientated when she was younger, but she seems to have completely erased memories of that and disowned him.

“Similarly, she cut off her ex-husband when her career started taking off.

“She seems to me to be a very ambitious, unforgiving person.”
