She is known for mixing high street labels with luxury designer fashion and now, the Duchess of Cambridge has turned heads in one of her most frugal outfits ever.
Teamed with a pair of towering Hugo Boss stilettos, Kate Middleton re-wore a £16 ($A30) belted dress from fashion chain Zara to an outing at University College London.
Kate, 39, recycled the long-sleeved, pussy bow outfit, which she previously wore to an official engagement in January.
The Zara dress is from a previous season and has already sold-out for the Spanish fast fashion retailer.
Meantime, Kate met researchers who are conducting a study entitled The Children of the 2020s.
Speaking at the meeting, the Duchess said: “Our early childhoods shape our adult lives and knowing more about what impacts this critical time is fundamental to understanding what we as a society can do to improve our future health and happiness”.
“The landmark ‘Children of the 2020s’ study will illustrate the importance of the first five years and provide insights into the most critical aspects of early childhood, as well as the factors which support or hinder positive lifelong outcomes.”
KATE’S PEACE OFFERING TO MEGHAN
From the outside, Meghan Markle’s royal wedding to Prince Harry was a fairytale – but in the months after the couple’s 2018 nuptials, suggestions soon emerged of tension between the Duchess of Sussex and her sister-in-law, Kate.
Reports swirled that “Meghan left Kate in tears” after a conflict over Princess Charlotte’s flower girl dress during a “stressful” fitting.
According to The Sun, the “rift” began when Kate said the flower girls should follow royal protocol by wearing tights, which Meghan disagreed with.
In the updated version of Meghan: A Hollywood Princess, biographer Andrew Morton claims the former Suits actor gave Kate a “peace offering” following the disagreement.
“The spat concerning the [flower girls’] outfits now behind them, Meghan had since given Kate and her six closest friends gold bracelets designed by Californian jeweller Lisette Polny as a thankyou for their help and support,” Morton said.
“It was an elegant peace offering, both women professional enough to know that there was no gain in showing dissent or disdain.”
During her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan confirmed publicly that Kate had made her cry.
Asked by Winfrey if she had made Kate cry, Meghan said: “The reverse happened”.
“A few days before the wedding she was upset about something, pertaining to … the flower girl dresses, and it made me cry,” Meghan said. “And it really hurt my feelings.”
“There wasn’t a confrontation and I don’t think it’s fair to her to get into the details of that because she apologised, and I have forgiven her,” she said.
“What was hard to get over was being blamed for something that not only I didn’t do, but that happened to me.” Meghan revealed that Kate sent her flowers to apologise.
