The 2019 Dog Lovers Show in Melbourne should be able to answer all your canine queries.

Visitors to the show will be able to meet and interact with more than 100 different breeds of dogs at the show.

2019 DOG LOVERS SHOW DATES AND TIMES

The three-day Dog Lovers Show Melbourne show runs from Friday, May 3, to Sunday, May 5, at Royal Exhibition Building, from 9.30am to 5pm daily.

WHAT TO SEE: 2019 DOG LOVERS SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

Head to the Vitapet Arena to be wowed by some supremely talented pups.

Among highlights will be The Wonderdogs’ new Party Show, the K9 Ninja Challenge Competition and the Drag- Racing Flyball Spectacular.

If a bit of DOGA (that’s dog yoga) tickles your fancy, head to classes run by the Rancan Sisters.

Or if you’re single and looking to mingle you can even enter the Dog Lovers Speed Dating event.

An array of speakers and experts will discuss topics such as training dogs and volunteering at pet organisations at the RACV Pet Insurance Stage.

Plus there’s plenty of information about different breeds if you’re thinking about getting a pooch.

As you stroll around the show, don’t miss out on the Black Hawk DockDogs pool, which will see a wide range of breeds launching off a dock into a massive pool of water.

FOOD AND DRINK AT THE 2019 DOG LOVERS SHOW

Grab a hot dog from the Hot Dog stand, tuck into some dumplings at the Dumpling Bar or wander past the food trucks and see what grabs your fancy.

Food trucks will serve up a swag of options such as burgers, pizza, Latin street food, Greek dishes and beef ribs.

There will also be coffee carts for those that need a caffeine hit, or you can enjoy some bubbles from the Prosecco Van.

HOW TO GET DOG LOVERS SHOW TICKETS

You can buy tickets online via the Dog Lovers Show website, or at the main entry of the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton.

Pre-purchased ticket holders can also enter via the Nicholson St entry or the northern entry opposite the Melbourne Museum.

Ticket costs:

  • Adult: $35, or pre-purchase online for $27.50.
  • Child: $17, or pre-purchase online for $12. Kids under five are free.
  • Pensioner/Seniors/Students: $20, or pre-purchase online for $15.
  • Family Pass: $95, or $75 pre-purchase online, for 2 adults and 2 children.

HOW TO GET TO THE 2019 DOG LOVERS SHOW

The Royal Exhibition Building is just north of Melbourne’s CBD, next to the Melbourne Museum in Carlton Gardens.

By car:

Undercover car parking is open seven days a week from 6am to midnight underneath the Melbourne Museum. Enter via Rathdowne Street or Nicholson Street.

The Dog Lovers Show has negotiated discounted parking for show visitors.

Or you could try your luck finding on-street parking in Carlton in and around Rathdowne, Lygon or Nicholson streets.

By public transport:

  • Tram route 86 or tram route 96 to corner of Nicholson and Gertrude Streets
  • Free City Circle Tram to Victoria Parade
  • City loop train to Parliament Station
  • Bus routes 250, 251 and 402 to Rathdowne Street
