The Christmas shopping period kicks up a gear with the big day just a few sleeps away.
To help shoppers conquer their Christmas shopping needs all major shopping centres have extended their trading hours.
Chadstone’s mammoth 34 hour trading period begins on Sunday 23rd at 8am and will finish at 6pm on Christmas Eve. Over 240,000 vistors are expected to walk through the doors during the 34 hour trading period, with the peak expected to be between 12pm-1pm on Christmas Eve. Over 3,000kg of prawns and 1000kg of turkey are expected to be sold as shoppers scramble to buy fresh food for their festivities.
Highpoint will be opening its doors for 32 hours from 9am on Sunday 23rd, meaning stores will be open until 5pm on Christmas Eve.
All major supermarkets will also be extending their opening hours as punters scramble to grab their groceries before doors close on Christmas Eve.
All major shopping centres and supermarkets will be closed on Christmas Day and will re-open early the next day to massive crowds hoping to grab a bargain on Boxing Day.
It’ll be an early rise for those on Boxing Day hoping to get in first at Myer, with their Bourke Street Mall outlet opening their doors at 5am. Next door, David Jones will open at 7am.
Chadstone will open it’s doors at 6am to hoards of savvy shoppers. Highpoint and Pacific Werribee will kick off it’s shopping spree at 7am. Most other shopping centres will open at 8am.
