A YOUNG boy has been hit by a car in Cranbourne East in Melbourne’s south east this morning while two people survived after crashing down an embankment in the state’s alpine region.

A TEENAGE boy has been hit by a car in Cranbourne East in Melbourne’s outer south east this morning.
The 14-year-old was crossing Linsell Boulevard when he was struck by a car about 7.15am.

He was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital by road ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver, a woman aged in her mid-30s, has assisted police.
Meanwhile two people have been freed after their car crashed down an embankment and rolled in the state’s alpine region.
Paramedics were called to the Great Alpine Road at Hotham Heights about 6.30am, Ambulance Victoria said.
“The patients were trapped but have now been released,” a spokeswoman said.
One of the injured was a man in his 60s and an air ambulance has been dispatched.
Their injuries are unknown at this stage.
