Woman hospitalised after being struck by e-scooter at Whitemans St, Southbank

A woman in her 40s has been taken to hospital after being hit by an e-scooter while crossing the street near Crown Casino.

A pedestrian has been rushed to hospital after being struck by an e-scooter in Melbourne.

Paramedics were called to Whitemans St, Southbank just before noon on Wednesday after a woman was hit by an electric scooter just outside Crown Towers.

Police suspect the woman aged in her 40s was crossing the street and in the bike lane at the time of the collision.

The woman was taken to The Alfred Hospital in a stable condition after sustaining upper and lower body injuries in the accident.

Police have spoken to the e-scooter rider and an investigation remains ongoing.
