Woman dies, man rescued after boat capsize
A woman has died after a boat capsized in waters off Werribee South despite a valiant rescue attempt from a passing boat.

A woman has died after a boat capsized in waters off Werribee South on Saturday afternoon.
Police believe the 62-year old woman and a 60-year-old man were out in a small boat when it overturned just after 2.45pm.
A vessel pulled the St Albans pair from the water and brought the couple to shore, but it was too late for the woman.
Despite paramedics’ efforts, she could not be revived and died at the scene.
The man was uninjured.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner and have urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
