YOU WOULDN’T know it by looking outside but winter is here and the winter school holidays are fast approaching.

And just because it’s sunny outside doesn’t mean you can’t feel the winter chills.

There are plenty of winter themed activities to keep the kids busy as of Friday including pop-up ice rinks and Christmas in July celebrations.

The Bureau of Meteorology says it’s going to be a warmer and drier winter than normal — so throw on your woolly jacket and thick socks and enjoy the following activities.

Hit the ice

GONE are the days when suburbanites needed to head out to the local ice rink for a taste of the hard, cold stuff — there are many pop-up ice rinks making an appearance across Melbourne these school holidays.
