Nick Kyrgios has shocked even his mother with his latest move — a back full of Pokemon tattoos.
Fresh from his 11th hour Wimbledon withdrawal, the Australian tennis bad boy has seemingly employed a team of tattooists to ink his back with Pokemon art.
Photos uploaded to Kyrgios’ social media tagged gangatattoo and Pokemon, and with the caption “studio days in LA” show no fewer than seven people gathered around a table.
“Wow! Insane! To have that many guys tattooing you at one. You are hardcore man,” commented one fan, while others remarked on his pain level tolerance.
Yet others said the tennis champ’s love of Pokemon was well known, and commended his level of commitment to his great love.
However, Kyrgios’ mother Nolaila, better known as Nill, had just one word for the back tatt: “NO!!!!!”
Nill describes herself as “Chief to the Kyrgios tribe. Just call me MamaK”, on her own Instagram.
In 2017 Nill said her family was still learning how to deal with the pressure of living in the public eye and there was no manual to being the mum of the enigmatic tennis star.
Kyrgios plans ‘chaos’ with smoking Mike Tyson
Australian tennis bad boy Nick Kyrgios has hinted at “something big coming” with controversial former World Heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson.
“Perfect chaos,” Kyrgios posted to Instagram, under a photo of himself posed up next to Tyson, who appears to be smoking weed.
Kyrgios’ many followers, family and friends were quick to get excited, saying “this is so bloody epic — let’s f--king go baby”, “the king and Mike Tyson” and “legendary link up”.
But the post also drew comments about his apparent hypocrisy after famously calling-out marijuana smoking during his match against French player Benjamin Bonzi at the US Open last year.
Kyrgios was midway through the second set against Bonzi in New York on Thursday when he complained to the chair umpire that he could smell marijuana smoke coming from the crowd.
“You don’t want to remind people, not to do it?” Kyrgios asked the umpire.
The umpire then suggested the smell may be coming from the kitchens in the arena.
Kyrgios hit back at the umpire, saying: “It wasn’t the kitchen, it was marijuana”.
“Didn’t you once tell a referee that you can’t stand the smell of weed?” asked one person.
“Where your joint?” asked another. “Hey you smoking some weed too Nick?” and “stepping into the cannabis game?” commented yet others.
There is speculation Kyrgios is planning to join Tyson on his Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson podcast, which is billed as “the baddest man on the planet, pours his soul into conversations with fascinating minds, celebrities and athletes in a studio full of smoke”.
But Tyson, 56, also said in April this year he could be tempted back into the boxing ring, leading to hopes he may fight Kyrgios.
And Kyrgios is known for wanting to test his strength after Grand Slam disappointments.
This time last year he posting footage of himself dragging a struggling shark on to a Bahamas beach with a rope, saying he wanted to test his strength against that of the shark.
The post drew widespread condemnation amid animal cruelty accusations.
This year Kyrgios withdrew from Wimbledon on the eve of the tournament, just hours after confirming he’d play, citing a wrist ligament injury.
It‘s the second time this year he has withdrawn from a Grand Slam on the eve of the tournament, having bailed from the Australian Open at the eleventh hour in January.
After his Wimbledon withdrawal, Kyrgios again headed to the Bahamas to lick his wounds, but if he battled sharks this year did not post footage.
Extreme way Bulldogs’ Caleb Poulter will remember dead cat
Western Bulldogs draftee Caleb Poulter and his TikTok star girlfriend Sam Guggenheimer have had permanent reminders of their dead kitten Douglas tattooed on their bodies, to always remember him.
The pair were left heartbroken after the shock death of the British shorthair cat kitten after it died in Melbourne on Tuesday.
In a tribute on social media, Guggenheimer said Douglas “saved” her.
“Heaven gained a little angel today,” she said.
“Words cannot describe how much this little tiny kitten changed our life for such a short period of time.
“He filled a space in our heart we didn’t know was missing. He will be our little boy forever.
“Thank you Douglas for being there these past two months with me, I didn’t know how much I needed you, you really saved me and showed me how to love and care for something as precious as you.
“Hope you have endless salmon treats up there buddy, we love you and miss you already.”
Guggenheimer, who regularly posted videos of Douglas to her 182,000 TikTok followers, didn’t comment on his cause of death.
