The family of a missing woman have made an emotional tribute after her body was found on Friday.

The mother of missing Sarah Weatherstone has made an emotional tribute in the memory of her daughter after her body was discovered in Melbourne’s south east.

Police reported they had found Sarah’s body in Narre Warren on Friday, ending the search for the 28-year-old that started back on March 23.

Sarah’s mother Judith Weatherstone said her daughter had died by “accidental suicide”, paying tribute to her on social media.

“It’s with a heavy heart that Stephen, Josh and myself would like to let everybody know that today we have been told of the passing of our beautiful daughter Sarah to accidental suicide,” she said.

“Rest in peace beautiful, forever in our hearts.”

Ms Weatherstone thanked Sarah’s loved ones for their well wishes and attempts to locate the 28-year-old, who disappeared more than a month ago.

“Thanks for the support and love over the past 5 weeks,” she said.

Dozens of tributes for Ms Weatherstone from loved ones and friends poured in following news of her death.

“She was so beautiful,” Naominez Hubbard wrote.

“Such a beautiful girl, gone way too soon,” Amanda Freeman said.

A police spokeswoman said that the death was not being treated as suspicious and they also wanted to thank the public in their efforts to help locate Ms Weatherstone.
