Victorian wins $50m in Oz Lotto jackpot

A mystery Victorian who bought an Oz Lotto ticket in the City of Casey has woken up $50m richer. See where the ticket was bought.

An unregistered Victorian ticketholder has won the entire Oz Lotto jackpot.

A mystery Victorian winner of a $50m Oz Lotto jackpot bought the lucky ticket at a Tatts outlet in Hampton Park.

The unregistered ticketholder won the entire Oz Lotto jackpot in Tuesday night’s draw and has become the game’s biggest winner of 2022.

The Lott officials on Thursday revealed the winning entry was purchased at Hampton Park Lotto on Hallam Rd.

Hampton Park Lotto owner Annabelle Johnstone said the outlet had now sold division one winning entries in all lottery games.

“It’s a phenomenal prize to win and we’re so happy to have sold the division one winning entry to one of our customers,” she said.

“We’ve sold division one winning entries in all other lottery games, but have been patiently waiting to sell one in Oz Lotto. This marks a full set.”

The multi-million-dollar winning entry was not registered to a player card, which means officials from The Lott have no way of contacting the winner.

The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell urged anyone who bought an entry into Tuesday’s draw from Hampton Park Lotto to check their ticket.

“Imagine going to bed tonight not knowing you’ve just won $50m in Oz Lotto,” she said.

“That’s the reality for one mystery Victorian after scoring division one in last night’s Oz Lotto draw.

“While we’ve been unable to confirm the division one win with last night’s winner, we can guarantee that when they check their ticket and discover their news, they’ll be jumping for joy.

“Not only is this mystery Victorian Oz Lotto’s biggest winner for 2022, but they’re also the year’s fourth biggest winner across all lottery games.

“We’re encouraging everyone to check their entries because they might be the newly-minted multi-millionaire we’re searching.”

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1494 on were 37, 42, 47, 39, 5, 17 and 20, while the supplementary numbers were 29, 22 and 38.

There were a total of 778,643 prizes worth more than $18m won in divisions two to seven in the Oz Lotto draw.

Among those winners were 14 division two winners, who each took home $47,858.55.

In Victoria, people have 12 months to claim their prizes directly from Oz Lotto.

After that time, the prize goes to the Victorian State Revenue Office and there is a process to collect it from there.
