Victorian Governor Linda Dessau has term extended until 2023.
The Queen has officially approved for the Governor of Victoria Linda Dessau to stay in the prestigious role for another term.

Victorian Governor Linda Dessau will serve another term, with her role officially extended till 2023.
Premier Daniel Andrews confirmed Ms Dessau, a former Family Court judge and AFL commissioner, would stay on until June 2023 this morning after her term had been officially approved by the Queen.
Mr Andrews said Ms Dessau had performed exceptionally well in her role as an advocate for the state.
“I thank the Governor and Mr Howard (Ms Dessau’s partner) for agreeing to continue serving the people of Victoria until 2023,” Mr Andrews said.
“Through their tireless work they have wonderfully represented and celebrated our diverse community and its achievements at home and internationally, while making Government House a more open, accessible and inclusive place.”

Ms Dessau gratefully accepted the extension.
“My husband Tony and I are delighted to be asked to continue our service to the people of Victoria,” she said.
“It is an honour and privilege to represent and promote our great state, and help to celebrate and support Victoria’s diverse and vibrant community.”
