Vegans and vigilante animal activists sharing farm locations online has left farmers terrified

Farmers are scared their properties will be stormed by vigilante animal activists and vegans who share their locations through an interactive website.

Trespass legislation won’t prevent ‘uninvited invasions’

Farming families are living in fear that “vigilante” animal activists will storm their properties as their addresses are shared online.

An interactive online map providing some farm locations was launched by animal activist group Aussie Farms at the start of the year, with plans to expand it globally.

And vegan groups have shared details about farms on social media networks.

Victorian Farmers Federation president David Jochinke said: “The farming community feels under attack, threatened, scared by the behaviour of people not being called to account.”

He wants the courts to hand down tough penalties to farm trespassers, otherwise he claims there will be more and more “invasions”.

Mandy Humpage said she worried for the safety of her children, aged one to nine, and employees at their free range egg farm WesEggs.
