Another truck has hit the infamous Montague Street bridge, causing midafternoon chaos.
The small truck appears to have slammed into the overpass, despite warning signs and red flags leading up to the bridge.
Montague Street, in South Melbourne, has been reduced to one lane heading away from the city.
Victoria Police are directing traffic as crews begin the all-too-familiar task of removing the latest casualty from underneath the bridge.
Unfortunately, the @MontagueStBridg has been hit again 𤦠The right lane's closed beach-bound on the approach. Please follow the direction of @VictoriaPolice and drive with care. Just a reminder, this is a 3.0 metre clearance. #victraffic #knowyourclearance pic.twitter.com/VTnvLvePYh

VicTraffic issued a reminder after the smash, warning drivers: “this is a 3.0 metre clearance.”
It comes after a long line of oversized vehicles also failed to judge the height of the bridge (or their loads), slamming into the structure on various occasions.

Website How Many Days Since the Montague Street Bridge Has Been Hit, which is dedicated to the tallying the number of times the “Monty” has been on the receiving end of a smash, lists October 9 as the previous crash date.
Last month bus driver Jack Aston walked from jail over a 2016 crash into the same bridge that left six people with injuries.

Mr Aston’s sentence of five years and three months in jail sparked widespread debate before his sentence was overturned in a Court of Appeal.
Outside court Mr Aston had just one message:
“If you really do care about the people of Victoria, before that bridge takes a life, fix it,” he said.
