A small fire started about 20 minutes after the teens were spotted on the site.

The Herald Sun understands MFB crews were called.

Last year up to 60 firefighters battled an enormous blaze at the Gough St abandoned factory near the Nylex clock.

While the clock was spared in the ferocious fire, the factory was razed in the inferno.
