AS their lives move into the next phase, Rebecca and Chris Judd have bought a Mornington Peninsula property that will be their growing family’s sanctuary.

“It’s a big property so the kids can just run around,” Rebecca told the Herald Sun.

“We thought as we won’t be able to travel for a long time, let’s pretty much buy a ranch on the Mornington Peninsula.

“There are rolling hills and meadows, and kangaroos jumping everywhere. It’s beautiful and only an hour from home.”

Rebecca starts maternity leave on Tuesday, taking time out from her dual roles at Channel 9.

At 26 weeks pregnant with identical twin boys, she is ready for a rest — most of it having to be horizontal on doctor’s orders.

Expecting the boys anytime from 28 weeks onwards, the Judds will have four children five and under — the twins brothers to Oscar, 5, and Billie, 2.

The recently purchased property near Arthur’s Seat includes two lakes, a creek and a three-bedroom house that the couple plans to extend.

As she prepares to read her last weather bulletin on Monday before returning early next year, Rebecca told the Herald Sun she is both excited and daunted about the next few months.

She is looking forward to being in pyjamas and Ugg boots, but needs to lie down most of the time due to growing rib pain.

“I get home and I’m just horizontal with my special maternity cushion under my belly,” she said.

“I sleep like that as well, it’s very different from having a single pregnancy, that’s for sure.”

She describes retired footy star husband Chris as her rock.

“He is like a super mum,” she said. “He is working fulltime and managing being a very hands-on parent.

“He gets home from work, gets dinner, does the dishes, while I’m on the couch.

“He has always been great, but if you had to use a parallel with football, the pressure is on, the cream rises, and he has.

“Football, parenthood, work, life, he is an A-grader. I’m really lucky.”

She will continue to run her blog Rebecca Judd Loves as well as her beauty school Beauty Edu.

The Judds employ a part-time nanny to help out and Rebecca’s mother might come over from Perth when the twins are born.

She is still to source a pram and finish the nursery, and a car update will be needed.

At 33, it hasn’t sunk in that she is about to become a mother of four.

“I feel like so many of my girlfriends are still having their first baby or searching for Mr Right,” she said.

“I feel like I’m too young to have four kids.

“It’s like I’m winging this whole parenthood thing sometimes.”

One thing for sure, Rebecca sees Melbourne as her home forever.

“You will never find me anywhere else,” she said. “I love everything.”

“I’ve got a great group of friends, great family support and the most amazing husband who is so happy after football.

“You kind of worry about that, but he is so happy.

“I feel like Melburnians look out for each other, there is such a good community vibe.”
