Man dies, three friends in hospital after a boat capsized north of Portland

A MAN has died after a boat capsized in Victoria’s southwest, with three friends of the 61-year-old rescued by the coast guard.

A MAN has died after a boat capsized in Victoria’s southwest today.

Three friends of the 61-year-old were rescued by the coast guard after the boat started sinking at Bolwarra, north of Portland, about midday.

The three men were taken to Portland Emergency Department, where they remain in a stable condition.

ONE DEAD IN BOX HILL CRANE ACCIDENT

Victoria Police said in a statement police divers located the body of a fourth man at 5pm and were unable to revive him.

It is not yet known how the boat overturned and began to sink.
