The loved-up duo were initially oblivious to our well-placed observer, as they shared a passionate, lingering kiss.

After realising they’d been sprung, there was the awkward embrace extrication. Then embarrassed expressions from all present.

The witness’s swift change of direction would have won applause in his playing days.

As for the amorous couple, the married male is one of the sporting world’s more celebrated “family men”.

The female is single and apparently very ready to mingle.
