Putting the squeeze on Victoria’s movers, shakers and headline makers.

Former Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has ruled out standing for Kooyong in the next election.

Yet this has not quelled persistent talk of a political comeback.

A get-together with former Prime Minister John Howard has further fuelled the chatter, not all of it kind.

Car crash MP Tim Smith was moved to offer some thoughts on social media after the Herald Sun reported the catch-up.

He and Frydenberg were once mates. Not anymore, it seems.

“I’ll tell you something for free,” Smith wrote. “@joshfrydenberg has never been and never will be a John Howard.”
