There was a heart warming life-comes-full-circle moment involving a former police officer and an $8000 bundle of cash on Thursday.
Krystle Mitchell famously quit Victoria Police after 16 years in protest at having to enforce Dictator Dan’s Covid lockdowns.
“I’m quitting too because I can’t remedy in my soul anymore the way in which my organisation that I love to work for is being used,” she said at the time.
The self-described libertarian went on to run unsuccessfully for the City of Melbourne council this year under the “Your Voice Matters to Me” ticket.
Ms Mitchell has been spotted sporadically since, occasionally turning up at Town Hall meetings to monitor goings on there in person.
She is very active on X, formerly Twitter, where she enthusiastically states her support of Donald Trump amid taking regular pot shots at her former employer.
“You’re broken Victoria Police … and the Government is laughing at you,” Ms Mitchell wrote as recently as January 20.
Just three days later, Ms Mitchell had 8000 reasons to view the force in a more positive light.
After dropping a huge wad of cash, apparently from the sale of her husband’s ride-on mower, somewhere in the city, Ms Mitchell frantically appealed to social media for help.

A few hours later, she discovered to her relief that a good Samaritan had handed it in.
To South Melbourne police station no less.
It was all smiles between Ms Mitchell and an officer when owner and cash were reunited.
Maybe the cops aren’t so broken after all.
