Putting the squeeze on Victoria’s movers, shakers and headline makers.
Swings and roundabouts. Pies and penguins.
Former Collingwood footy club chief executive Mark Anderson has run national swimming and hockey organisations, as well as a footy club.
There, he was kept busy with a little pandemic. There was also a little report, Do Better, which precipitated a little press conference, and the departure of president Eddie McGuire, amid findings that the Black and White suffered from not-so-little “systemic racism”.
Happily, after leaving Collingwood late last year, Anderson has embraced a new kind of Black and White – Little Penguins at Phillip Island.
He will lead the tourism division of the Phillip Island Nature Parks.
“In making this shift, it is very clear that the same passion exists, with ‘Great people with great purpose’ very much holding true and taking me into another personal passion area of protecting & enhancing the environment and incredible wildlife and being able to share those experiences with around 1 million visitors from overseas and across Australia from this iconic location,” he posted.
Happily, Anderson still regards Collingwood as a “personal passion area”.
