New Governor of Victoria Margaret Gardner has launched a year zero reset of the office’s Instagram account, erasing any trace of the freshly departed Linda Dessau.

Putting the squeeze on Victoria’s movers, shakers and headline makers.

Social media can be brutal. Trolls lurk and keyboard warriors take their cowardly shots from the shadows. That’s the ever-present danger of an online lifestyle.

But what if your high-profile-and-proud Instagram page is purged by insiders?

That would appear to be the case for freshly-departed Victorian Governor Linda Dessau, who, with spouse Anthony Howard, left Government House on June 30.

Her tenure in the top job was well documented, with hundreds of posts to the Gram to thousands of followers.

But a recent check of the @vicgovernor Instagram page reveals a total takeover by Victoria’s new Governor, Professor Margaret Gardner, with no evidence of Ms Dessau at all.

To date, Professor Gardner has posted 19 entries to 6715 followers.

Meanwhile, Ms Dessau has started a new Insta page, @officiallindadessau.

So far, she has one follower.

Mongols bikie powerbroker becomes CFMEU union delegate

One is a heavy hitter of the building caper and the other has similar clout in the bikie world

And the Source doubts union firebrand John Setka cares what anyone thinks about his working relationship with outlaw motorcycle gang powerbroker Tyrone Bell.

The Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union supremo happily posed up with senior Mongol Bell for the organisation’s Facebook page.

Bell — a veteran of the construction industry — is one of a group of new CFMEU union reps who, we’d confidently say, are not men to be trifled with.

“Introducing our amazing new delegates. Let’s give them a heartfelt welcome. We’re thrilled to have them on board,” the Facebook post said.

Bell (circled) was welcomed as a union rep by John Setka (rear right).

One source said Bell was now the president of the Victorian division of the Mongols.

The man known as Little Ty is clearly regarded as one of the most influential Melbourne members of the feared OMCG.

He was once close to former Mongol Toby Mitchell but that ended last year.

Mitchell was ousted and other notable former members Mark Balsillie, Sam Abdulrahim and Jason Addison finished up soon after.

Bell stayed on with the national regime led by Queenslander Nick “The Knife” Forbes and Phil Main.

Bell has been one of the Victorian Mongols’ longest-serving members during a period of rapid expansion.

The Mongols are rated among the most powerful handful of bikie gangs in Australia.

Their members have been linked to large-scale drug trafficking, homicides and other violent crime.
