In a statement released via Victoria Police, his family said: “The family of Anthony would like to acknowledge the Scarlet St residents, and the people who selflessly tried to render help at the crash site, and to thank Anthony’s work colleagues, who arrived at the scene within minutes, and of course the fire brigade, police, and ambulance paramedics who worked at, and had to witness the horrific scene.
“The family’s thoughts are with them all, and we would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.”
Mr Liddell was praised for his efforts in steering the light plane to the middle of the road and away from nearby houses in his final moments of life.
