Tessa Sullivan resigned as a Melbourne City councillor in December after she lodged a complaint alleging the former lord mayor made sexually loaded remarks and inappropriately touched her.

She said in a string of tweets today that she was “hoping for change”.

In reference to a Herald Sun report that she listed the trading name “Tessa Doyle” on the Australian Business Register in 2007, she clarified that her “mother’s maiden name is Doyle”.

She also clarified her mum had never met Mr Doyle as part of her involvement with the Rotary club.

In another post, Ms Sullivan responded to a supportive post from Victoria’s Minister for Women Natalie Hutchins. “Your support means so much to me, here’s hoping for change,” she said.

Mr Doyle denies all allegations but quit as lord mayor earlier this month, sparking an election on May 12 to fill the top job.

The council commissioned top silk Dr Ian Freckelton to investigate the allegations.

The Herald Sun understands the council is preparing for a possible court bid by Mr Doyle to keep the report secret.
