Teen, 19, faces charges over armed Dallas carjacking

A TEEN has been charged with firearm offences after a carjacking in a supermarket car park in Melbourne’s north.
The 19-year-old was among four men and a woman arrested as Special Operations Group police swooped on a Westmeadows address on Monday afternoon.
Police allege two men armed with a firearm got out of a car in Dallas and approached a nearby Mercedes in a supermarket car park just after midnight on Sunday.
A 46-year-old Craigieburn man was forced out of the car, which the two alleged offenders drove off in while another vehicle followed.
The next day, police arrested five people and seized two firearms at a property in Tylden Place, Westmeadows.
The 19-year-old, from Dandenong North, was charged with firearms offences, while another Dandenong North man, 27, was charged with aggravated carjacking. The other three arrested were released pending further inquiries.
The victim was not physically harmed and the Mercedes has since been recovered.
