In his own words, bad boy Tarryn Thomas has confirmed he is “back”.
The fallen North Melbourne star made his first steps to an AFL comeback on Sunday, lining up for the Kangaroos’ VFL side in a big win over Sandringham.
The 23-year-old has been training with the club’s VFL outfit since April 18, with his appearance on Sunday marking his return to competitive football.
In the lead-up to the match Thomas took to Instagram to proudly announce his return.
“I’m back,” he commented on NMFC Reserves page.
He picked up 18 disposals lining up at halfback in the sides 66-point victory.
Thomas has been exiled from the AFL program and was stood down by the club for a second time in March over allegations of threatening and intimidating behaviour towards women.
He was then embroiled in yet another scandal, this time involving a video shared to social media in early April, with the footy-star driving a car with his legs on the centre console drifting waywardly onto the wrong side of the road.
Thomas has been working part-time while completing a respectful behaviour program and was fined $5000 over the controversial video.
He will next face Broadmeadows Magistrates’ Court on July 18.
